VIRTEX OFFICIALLY LAUNCHES F1-GRADESIMULATION CENTRE TRACKSIDE AT SPA- FRANCORCHAMPS
What was once the domain for Formula 1 and works motorsport is now
accessible to all professional race teams, as VIRTEX emerges as the
ultimate performance partner in race preparation.
Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium – 27 June 2025
Today marks the official opening of VIRTEX, the most advanced motorsport simulator centre ever built trackside, giving race teams access to one of the most realistic simulation toolsets in motorsport.
The facility features Dynisma’s high-performance DMG-1 driving simulator, while also providing a broader purpose-built working environment for the rest of the crew, empowering not only drivers but the entire team to prep faster and smarter.
Though based at Spa, VIRTEX’s offering gives teams access to every major circuit worldwide, built using the latest LiDAR-scans that capture every asperity of the track. So whether the next race is in Belgium, Japan or Brazil, the team can be there in seconds — simulating setups, analysing data, and optimising performance in real time.
“F1 teams and other works programmes have been using high-fidelity simulation for decades,” says Founder & CEO Julien Gillard. “Now it’s finally in the hands of the wider world of motorsport, including GT3, F2, F3 and prototypes as LMDh”.
Designed to closely replicate real-world vehicle behaviour, VIRTEX’s simulation offering gives teams a tool they can trust — not just for driver training, but for full-scale setup development. As a result, teams can shift more of their race preparation into the virtual realm, optimising setups up to 5x faster, 25x cheaper, and with zero risk to both driver and machine.
To make it happen, VIRTEX has assembled a world-class team, including F1 veteran Barney Hassell, a Vehicle Dynamicist with 25+ years of experience, and CTO Dr Fabian Bräu, a leading expert in simulation and AI. Together, they’re pushing simulation to new heights, developing vehicle modelling methods that capture all functional and physical parameters of the car, creating its true digital twin.
As for hardware, the simulation is powered by Dynisma’s leading motion simulation technology. Known for its ultra-low latency (3–4ms) and high-fidelity performance, the Dynisma Motion Generator (DMG) platform is trusted by leading automotive OEMs and top-tier motorsport teams in F1, F2, FE, WEC and IMSA.
“To have a permanent Dynisma simulator installed at Spa with VIRTEX is incredibly special,” says Ash Warne, Founder & CTO of Dynisma. “We’re excited to support their mission and provide a world-class simulation experience to teams right at the heart of European racing.”
The location of VIRTEX's state-of-the-art simulation centre at the foot of the legendary Eau Rouge corner is no coincidence. This strategic location grants immediate access and unrivalled flexibility to customers who regularly visit the Circuit. "We are delighted to welcome VIRTEX to our site,’ says Amaury Bertholomé, CEO of the Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps. "This partnership is the result of a long-term effort and enhances the range of services offered at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. It reinforces the Circuit’s position as a centre of excellence in all aspects of motorsport.” For teams traveling to Belgium, VIRTEX ensures a seamless experience, organising travel from airport to the Circuit and the hotel, and back.
The first wave of testing has already begun ahead of the 24 Hours of Spa race with multiple GT3 teams that came all week to evaluate VIRTEX solutions — with further demo sessions now open for bookings.
